Bérèche et Fils

Bérèche et Fils, Champagne AC, Brut Réserve NV

Nestled in Montagne des Reims, a stone’s throw from the village and premier cru vineyards of Ludes, Bérèche et Fils has been a respected grower since 1847. Brothers Raphaël & Vincent Bérèche took the reigns from their parents Jean Pierre and Catherine in the early 2000s, and make some of the most delicious, grower Champagnes (we think) known to man. The brothers work oh so gently in the vineyards and in the winery, and skilfully find the perfect balance between the silky texture of their wines and the seamless nature of the bubbles. Nothing but class, subtlety and craftsmanship to be found here.

It’s here that they make their Champagne AC, Brut Réserve NV. This rollickingly good value for money grower Champagne from Bérèche et Fils is one of our absolute favourites. Refined and elegant, this eminently quaffable fizz is made from all three of Champagne’s classic grapes (chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier) and has a lovely texture and saline quality to it. We’ll be gleefully pouring this by the glass during December, and have a small selection of other Bérèche et Fils wines in our little black book over the month — just ask for it at the bar.
